Jessica Ecott - Glass & Sculpture

cowparsley triptych

Private commission
This piece was made by impressing the shapes of cowparsley and teasles into clay, and then taking a mould from it, over which the glass could then be shaped.  Although the glass is moulded and not coloured, the effect is one of real plants caught in a moment, and using “standoff” fixings which hold the glass away from the wall, there is the three dimensional effect of the shadows on the surface behind too.
